Lafiya Outreach at Kafin Chiroma Community of Kazaure LGA
Our vision has always been to see a world in which every woman and girl has access to high quality family planning products and counseling. Since our inception in 2021, we have worked hard to deliver reproductive healthcare access to women across six states in Nigeria.
We partner with local healthcare workers - our Lafiya Sisters - who are embedded in their communities to help us deliver contraceptives and counseling. Today, our 600 Lafiya Sisters together submit more than 100,000 surveys a month, capturing each counseling session along with community-level data that feeds into national health systems.
By using technology solutions like SurveyCTO, a software platform for field data collection, we’ve been able to capture data from hundreds of thousands of counselling sessions in ultra-rural settings and relay it to national agencies to strengthen their health forecasting systems.
Throughout the years, we’ve scaled our work almost 50x, from 12 Lafiya Sisters in 2022 to 600 in 2026. In fact, so far in 2026, in areas where our Lafiya Sisters are active, we’ve conducted over 684,000 counselling sessions with SurveyCTO and delivered over 1.1 million contraceptive doses.
Location: Nigeria (operating across 6 states)
Scale: 600 trained healthcare workers (Lafiya Sisters), submitting 100,000+ surveys monthly
Results: 72% uptake in contraceptive coverage (compared to 34% in control areas as demonstrated during an 18-month longitudinal study)
