Ramatu holds an MSc in Geography and is a community-focused social and behaviour change (SBC) and public health professional with over six years of experience supporting community-based health interventions and strengthening primary health care service delivery in Nigeria. She has extensive experience engaging government stakeholders and community structures to improve uptake of essential health services, including immunisation, maternal health, malaria prevention, and infectious disease control.

She is skilled in stakeholder engagement, community mobilisation, supportive supervision, and capacity building of community-level actors, with a strong track record of working with State Primary Health Care Management Boards, health authorities, and traditional and religious leaders to address service delivery gaps and improve programme outcomes.

In her role at Lafiya, she leads the implementation of the programme in Kano State, providing technical and operational oversight, strengthening partnerships with government stakeholders, and supporting data-driven decision-making to improve access to quality contraceptive services for underserved populations.
